Instructional Strategies (5min):
Welcome and announcement: updates to daily agenda. Announce required supplies for the day and activities. I will update the students on any school announcements they are required to know. Following school announcements, I will proceed to make my classroom announcements which cover, last class meeting procedures, today's agenda, and upcoming assignments. Furthermore, the days agenda will be further explained and will introduce the content standards for the lesson.

Lecture (10 min):
Todays lecture will focus on the technological advancements WWI had on weaponry. Moreover, we will explore how new these new weapons were utilized in the battle front. Lastly, Trench Warfare will be examined in detail, as well as demonstrate what one may look like.
Todays lecture will focus on the technological advancements WWI had on weaponry. Moreover, we will explore how new these new weapons were utilized in the battle front. Lastly, Trench Warfare will be examined in detail, as well as demonstrate what one may look like.
Trench Warfare Diagram (10 min): Studetns will create their own Trench Diagram in a separate sheet of paper while following my instruction and demonstration. The Diagram should contain the next items in the correct positions, no mans land, barbed wire, machine guns, big Berthas, our soldier, lice, trench foot, rain, cubby hole, and rats.

Graphic Organizer (10 min): Students will demonstrate their understanding of the lesson by completing the following graphic organizer. The spider map requires for the students to primarily come up with the main theme (for todays lesson that would be “Modern Warfare”), four main ideas, and two details to describe each idea. Students will work individually on their assignment for ten minutes while I walk around and aid anyone who raises their hand for help.

Jigsaw (10 min): Students will be placed in groups pf three to five students. Each member in the group will have one portion of the text which they read and extract the big ideas. Students will share their findings with their group. Students will divide evenly the reading material assigned, pages 379-383 from our US history classroom textbook.
